The present document outlines the interoperability of standard external power supplies designed for use with data-capable mobile telephones. It establishes the standard charging capabilities and details the interface specifications for the external power supply.
This document does not address safety or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations. Safety is addressed by IEC 60950-1 or IEC 62368-1, while EMC is covered by regional or national standards.
The interoperability defined in this document is based on established USB technologies and does not encompass charging interfaces that adhere to IEC 62680-1-3 (USB Type-C™), IEC 62680-1-2 (USB Power Delivery), or IEC 63002.
