ISO 12179:2021 details the calibration and adjustment procedures for the metrological properties of contact (stylus) measuring instruments used to assess surface texture through the profile measurement technique as per ISO 3274. The calibration and adjustment process is to be performed using measurement standards.
Annex B provides specifications for the calibration and adjustment of the metrological attributes of simplified operator contact (stylus) instruments that do not adhere to ISO 3274.
