IEC 60652:2021 outlines the methods and procedures for testing supports used in overhead lines. It is applicable to the evaluation of supports and structures associated with overhead lines.
There are no restrictions regarding the materials utilized in the construction of these supports, which may include, but are not limited to, metallic alloys, concrete, timber, laminated wood, and composite materials. If requested by the client, this document can also be applied to the testing of supports for telecommunications, railway/tramway overhead electrification, electrical substation gantries, street lighting columns, wind turbine towers, ski-lift supports, and more.
Please note that tests conducted on scaled-down models of supports are not included in the scope of this document.
