This section of IEC 60534 outlines the requirements for the inspection and routine testing of control valves that are produced in accordance with the other sections of IEC 60534. It is applicable to valves with pressure ratings up to Class 2500, and the requirements for actuators are limited to pneumatic types.
This standard is not applicable to control valves that are used in radioactive services, fire safety testing, or other hazardous conditions. In cases where a hazardous service standard conflicts with this standard’s requirements, the hazardous service standard should take precedence.
NOTE: This standard can be extended to accommodate higher pressure ratings through mutual agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
