IEC 60196:2009 frequencies refer to those frequencies that are to be utilized in single-phase and three-phase alternating current (a.c.) systems, for use in shipboard installations, in a.c. traction systems, for power tools, and in aircraft applications. This standardization is confined to frequencies up to 10,000 Hz.
