IEC 60076-15:2008 applies to gas-filled power transformers, including auto-transformers. It is applicable across all construction technologies.
However, the following transformers are not covered by this standard:
- Single-phase transformers with a rated power less than 1 kVA and three-phase transformers less than 5 kVA;
- Dry-type transformers (refer to IEC 60076-1 1 );
- Instrument transformers (refer to IEC 60044);
- Starters;
- Test transformers;
- Traction transformers mounted on rolling stock;
- Welding transformers.
If there are no IEC standards for the aforementioned transformers or other specialized transformers, this standard may be applied in its entirety or selectively.
Note: This standard can also be applicable to the gas parts of a transformer where an insulating gas is used in conjunction with an insulating liquid.
