Appliances intended for outdoor use only, may use flexible hoses for internal gas connections. Flexible hose connections shall comply with:
a. The Standard for Pigtails and Flexible Hose Connectors for LP-gas, ANSI/UL 569 or the Standard for Elastomeric Composite Hose and Hose Couplings for Conducting Propane and Natural Gas, CAN/CGA-8.1 or Thermoplastic Hose and Hose Couplings for Conducting Propane and Natural Gas, CAN 1-8.3, or Gas Hose Connectors for Portable Outdoor Gas Fired Appliances, ANSI Z21.54 • CGA 8.4, or other nationally recognized standards; or
b. The hose may comply with the construction provisions of the Standard for LP-Gas Hoses, ANSI/UL 21 or any of the hose standards referenced in “-a” above except ANSI Z21.54 • CGA 8.4. In addition, the following tests shall be conducted on the hose and its connection fittings:
1 . The gas hose shall be designed for a working pressure of 350 psi (2.41 MPa) with a safety factor of 5 to 1 and be continuously marked “LP-GAS,” “350 PSI WORKING PRESSURE” and the manufacturer’s name or trademark.
