The ASME B31 Comitee, Code for Pressure Pip-ing. will consider written requests for interpretations and revisions of the Code rules and develop new rules if dictated by technological development. The Comittee’s activides in this regard are limited strictly to inlerpretations of the rules or to the consideration or Icvisions to the present rules on the basis of new data or technology. As a matter of published suciety,ASME docs not approve, certify, rate, or endorse any item, construction, proprietary device, or activiy, and accordingly, inquiries requiring such consideration will be returned. Moreover, ASME does not act as a consul-tant on secifle engineering problems or on the general application or understanding of the Code rules. If, based on the inquiry information submitted, it is the opinion of the Committe that the inquirer should seek professional assistance. the inquiry will be retumned with the recom-mendation that such asststance be obained.
