This section of IEC 60534 specifies the mandatory and supplementary markings required for control valves.
Some mandatory markings may not be suitable for certain valve designs, and some supplementary markings might only be appropriate for specific types of control valves. It is recommended that all valve markings adhere to this standard as much as possible unless otherwise agreed between the manufacturer and purchaser.
Mandatory markings should be placed in a manner that ensures they remain permanent. These markings must be integral with the valve body or securely attached to the body on a marking plate (distinct from an identification plate).
The placement of supplementary markings is also specified. Typically, these are found on an identification plate.
