This section of IEC 60317 outlines the requirements for glass-fiber-reinforced, resin- or varnish-impregnated, bare or coated rectangular copper winding wire with a temperature index of 180°C.
NOTE: For this category of wire, the heat shock test is deemed unsuitable, and as a result, a heat shock temperature cannot be determined. Therefore, a classification based on the temperature index and heat shock temperature requirements cannot be established.
The standard covers a range of nominal conductor dimensions, including:
- Width: minimum 2.0 mm, maximum 16.0 mm;
- Thickness: minimum 0.80 mm, maximum 5.60 mm.
The permissible combinations of width and thickness, as well as the specified width-to-thickness ratios, are in accordance with IEC 60317-0-4.
