CSA Standards

The purpose of this Standard is to establish the following for large and single packaged vertical air conditioners and heat pumps: (a) definitions; (b) classifications; (c) test requirements; (d) rating requirements; (e) minimum data requirements for published ratings; (f) operating requirements; (g) marking and nameplate data; (h) conformance conditions; and (i) minimum efficiency levels.

This Standard specifies the methods for determining the energy factor for electric storage tank water heaters and heat pump water heaters.

This Standard applies to packaged heat/energy-recovery ventilators (HRVs/ERVs) that consist of factory-assembled elements, including fans or blowers, in which heat or heat and moisture are transferred between two isolated airstreams.
