This section of IEC 60384 is dedicated to fixed capacitors featuring ceramic dielectric with a specified temperature coefficient (belonging to Dielectric Class 1), which are designed for employment in electronic devices. This includes leadless capacitors but excludes fixed surface mount multilayer capacitors with ceramic dielectric.
Capacitors designed for electromagnetic interference suppression are not covered under this part of the standard; however, they are addressed in IEC 60384-14.
