This section of IEC 61249 establishes the criteria for the properties of non-halogenated epoxy woven E-glass reinforced laminate sheets, where fire retardants consist of non-halogenated inorganic and/or organic compounds. These sheets are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.05 mm to 3.2 mm. The flammability rating is attained by incorporating fire retardants into the polymeric structure or as an additional component. The minimum glass transition temperature is set at 120°C.
For certain property requirements, there may be multiple performance classes. It is necessary to specify the desired class on the purchase order; failure to do so may result in the supply of the standard class of material.
